Wiccan Quotes

I am not a member of a Wicca coven nor am I a member of any other religion or belief system’s church, but I do borrow some of their practices for my own solitary spiritual disciplines. I know that joining such groups will impede my spiritual progress because of their dogmatic and sectarian doctrines and /or beliefs. There are higher realms of consciousness and realities that are instrumental in our souls evolution and in connecting to the evolved souls on those realms.Meditation (Silent watching) Is my number one spiritual practice and one that surpasses all others when it comes to spiritual enlightenment. I do not cling to my thoughts or the thoughts of others because they keep me from being centered and aware. I respect all forms of life and others beliefs because most lies or misconceptions are based on some truth and they are needed by some who haven’t a clue, as I once did not have.

Wicca also known as the “Old Religion,” is a Neopagan religion characterized by secret initiation rituals, reverence for Mother nature and worship of the Goddess. The movement received public attention in 1954 when a British civil servant named Gerald Gardner claimed that Wicca had secretly existed for thousands of years, originating in the pre-Christian Paganism of Europe. Various related Wiccan traditions have since evolved from Gardner’s time, with their own specific beliefs, rituals, and practices. Outsiders often assume that Wicca is a form of black-magic and superstition, but insiders claim that Wicca is a modern version of the ancient practice of honoring the Mother Goddess found in creation and nature. Due to the open and uncontrolled structure of the religion there are no precise statistics for Wicca; however, estimates range between 50,000 and 800,000 practitioners world-wide.

The Wiccan Rede

(Full Version)

The Wiccan Rede is a statement that provides the key moral system in the Neopagan religion of Wicca and other related Witchcraft -based faiths.

Bide within the Law you must, in perfect Love and perfect Trust.

Live you must and let to live, fairly take and fairly give.

For tread the Circle thrice about to keep unwelcome spirits out.

To bind the spell well every time, let the spell be said in rhyme.

Light of eye and soft of touch, speak you little, listen much.

Honor the Old Ones in deed and name,

let love and light be our guides again.

Deosil go by the waxing moon, chanting out the joyful tune.

Widdershins go when the moon doth wane,

and the werewolf howls by the dread wolfsbane.

When the Lady’s moon is new, kiss the hand to Her times two.

When the moon rides at Her peak then your heart’s desire seek.

Heed the North winds mighty gale, lock the door and trim the sail.

When the Wind blows from the East, expect the new and set the feast.

When the wind comes from the South, love will kiss you on the mouth.

When the wind whispers from the West, all hearts will find peace and rest.

Nine woods in the Cauldron go, burn them fast and burn them slow.

Birch in the fire goes to represent what the Lady knows.

Oak in the forest towers with might, in the fire it brings the God’s

insight. Rowan is a tree of power causing life and magick to flower.

Willows at the waterside stand ready to help us to the Summerland.

Hawthorn is burned to purify and to draw faerie to your eye.

Hazel-the tree of wisdom and learning adds its strength to the bright fire burning.

White are the flowers of Apple tree that brings us fruits of fertility.

Grapes grow upon the vine giving us both joy and wine.

Fir does mark the evergreen to represent immortality seen.

Elder is the Lady’s tree burn it not or cursed you’ll be.

Four times the Major Sabbats mark in the light and in the dark.

As the old year starts to wane the new begins, it’s now Samhain.

When the time for Imbolc shows watch for flowers through the snows.

When the wheel begins to turn soon the Beltane fires will burn.

As the wheel turns to Lamas night power is brought to magick rite.

Four times the Minor Sabbats fall use the Sun to mark them all.

When the wheel has turned to Yule light the log the Horned One rules.

In the spring, when night equals day time for Ostara to come our way.

When the Sun has reached it’s height time for Oak and Holly to fight.

Harvesting comes to one and all when the Autumn Equinox does fall.

Heed the flower, bush, and tree by the Lady blessed you’ll be.

Where the rippling waters go cast a stone, the truth you’ll know.

When you have and hold a need, harken not to others greed.

With a fool no season spend or be counted as his friend.

Merry Meet and Merry Part bright the cheeks and warm the heart.

Mind the Three-fold Laws you should three times bad and three times good.

When misfortune is enow wear the star upon your brow.

Be true in love this you must do unless your love is false to you.

These Eight words the Rede fulfill:

“An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will”

Wicca Solitary Practice

Many Wiccans are more often than not solitary practitioners. Some of these solitary Wiccans do, however, attend gatherings and other community events, but reserve their spiritual practices (Sabbats, Esbats, spell-casting, worship, magical work, etc.) for when they are alone. Eclectic Wiccans now significantly outnumber lineaged Wiccans, and their beliefs and practices tend to be much more varied.

“It seems to be necessary to preface every discussion of Witchcraft with an explanation that, no, Neo-Pagan Witches aren’t Satanists. The Christian anti-God, Satan, has no place in Pagan pantheons, either mythologically or theologically. Plainly and simply, to non-Christians, Satanism is the dark side of Christianity. Even today, Witchcraft is frequently misrepresented by being confused with Satanism. Often the word Witchcraft is used to represent two wholly opposite phenomena the survival of ancient Paganism in one instance [Wicca] , and the inversion of Christianity in another [Satanism].”Otter and Morning Glory Zell 6

“We are not evil. We don’t harm or seduce people. We are not dangerous. We are ordinary people like you. We have families, jobs, hopes, and dreams. We are not a cult. This religion is not a joke. We are not what you think we are from looking at T.V. We are real. We laugh, we cry. We are serious. We have a sense of humor. You don’t have to be afraid of us. We don’t want to convert you. And please don’t try to convert us. Just give us the same right we give you–to live in peace. We are much more similar to you than you think.” Margot Adler 4

“If you take [a copy of] the Christian Bible and put it out in the wind and the rain, soon the paper on which the words are printed will disintegrate and the words will be gone. Our bible IS the wind and the rain.” Herbalist Carol McGrath as told to her by a Native-American woman. 5

“I don’t think witchcraft is a religion. I would hope the military officials would take a second look at the decision they made.” G.W. Bush (R), as Governor of Texas. Interviewed on ABC’s Good Morning America, 1999-JUN-24. He disapproved of Wiccan soldiers being given the same religious rights as others in the military.

“We should educate people that ‘Witch’ is not evil but ancient and positive. The first time I called myself a ‘Witch’ was the most magical moment of my life.” Margot Adler. 4

“When one defines oneself as Pagan, it means she or he follows an earth or nature religion, one that sees the divine manifest in all creation. The cycles of nature are our holy days, the earth is our temple, its plants and creatures our partners and teachers. We worship a deity that is both male and female, a mother Goddess and father God, who together created all that is, was, or will be. We respect life, cherish the free will of sentient beings, and accept the sacredness of all creation.” Edain McCoy

How Can I Find a Local Group To Join?

How do you find a coven in your area?  We all have fantasies of being out and about, probably at the local Ren Faire or Ye Local Olde Witchy Shoppe, and we bump into a wise-looking soul with a giant pentacle around her neck, who promptly invites us to join her coven of the Ancient Ones.

It’s not going to happen.

However, what you can and should do is network with other Pagans. Get out to the places they congregate – bookstores, psychic fairs, SCA events, coffee shops, Yoga classes – and meet some people.  Eventually someone may mention to you that they are part of a coven, and if they feel you would be a good fit, they might eventually get around to asking their High Priestess (HPs) if they can invite you to an open meeting.

Because many Pagans and Wiccans are still “in the broom closet“, most covens, temples or groves do not advertise their presence. Networking is the key here — and you may have to spend some time making it known that you’re looking for a group to join. This process is often referred to as “seeking,” and after spreading the word that you’re a Seeker, you might find yourself approached by a member or members of a local group.

You can also meet fellow Pagans and Wiccans through networking websites, such as Witchvox or Yahoo Groups – but be sure to read the Internet Safety Precautions article for information about meeting someone in person that you’ve gotten in touch with online.

Wicca Fertility Spells Magick CAN be used to help with fertility issues.  Here’s a great spell to use…

In this post I am going to give you 2 spells that will help you with issues under the umbrella of “love and fertility”.

I’m going to show you two real magic spells for two different things.

There are many couples and spouses that struggle with having a baby – that is a fact.  Many have turned to Magic such as the spell I am going to show you below, and seen everything change very quickly…

I’ll also go into another spell that will help you turn a casual relationship, and give it the extra energy it needs to take it to the next level.  Be careful with it though, don’t ever affect anyone’s free will with a spell…

Candle Egg Fertility Spell

Create your own strong, powerful egg that will help you with fertility issues.  If you are having problems getting pregnant, this spell will help.

*  First make the candle mold: punch a small hole in the large end of a raw egg. Use a cuticle scissor to cut out a small circle of eggshell. (Buy a dozen eggs; you may need to practice a bit.) Empty the egg into a bowl. Use as desired. Gently wash the inside of the eggshell with water. The membrane and all of its content need to be thoroughly removed. Allow it to dry completely.

*  Prepare the wax. (You may also add tiny fertility charms or herbs.) Use the egg carton as a holder. Place the eggshell, hole-end up, in the carton. Pour in liquid wax, reserving a little. (When it’s half full, you may add tiny seed beads, charms or herbs if you choose, although the candle is effective without them.) Let the wax harden overnight.

*  Next day: gently heat the reserve wax until liquid. Gently chip away the shell, exposing your candle. Heat an ice pick or similar sharp thin tool: put it through the center of the candle and quickly thread with a wick. Fill the hole with the hot wax. Decorate. Keep as an amulet or burn in a spell.

More Than a Fling Doll Spell

To turn a casual relationship into something more by tapping into your Magic energy and focusing it to bring love into your life from someone you already know :

*  Cut out dolls to represent each party from an unlaundered bed sheet, stained with sexual fluids. Personalize as much as possible. Embroider or draw names onto the dolls if secrecy is not an issue.

*  Fill each poppet with love-herbs: roses, rosemary, orrisroot, heartsease, and vervain. Bind the dolls together, face to face, belly to belly, with scarlet ribbons. Slip the package under the mattress on the side the other party usually sleeps on.

      • Thank you and yes it did help but im really starting to think I should give up……..Iv been the only wicca in my school for to long and I don’t think I’ll find a true wicca to look up to….

      • Sounds like a wise decision, you’ll find something closer to your heart and energies, meditate on it and eventually your higher consciousness will guide you to your true path. Peace and good luck to you my dear.

  3. Excuse me but why should you just give up on something that ye truly believe in just because no one else is around to believe it with you. It seems to me either you believe or you don’t. It is that simple, really. I hope that you continue on your seeking path!
    Blessed Be!

    • I personally believe that Belief should be personal and tailor made for us. What matters most about belief is not how many others believe what we do, but how we live according to our belief. If we live not according to our belief, then our belief is not a way of life and we are really disbelievers because true believers live what they believe. It’s Like you said “Either you believe or you don’t”.Blessed Be!

      • I think your right and I do believe and I thank you for helping me release that its not what I think its what my heart believe in. Thank you and Blessed Be.

      • Since you believe from the heart Heaven, (that’s the key)and not only in the head, you are a true believer. Blessed Be!

    • Keep in touch my dear, I would like to hear how everything is going. Use the comment boxes on this page for your updates. May peace and love be your constant companions.

  4. Then you should know I go to Houston next Tuesday to inter into the Houston livestock art show…..so wish me luck please….

    • Good Luck Heaven, sounds interesting hope you enjoy yourself there and win. That’s a rodeo charity which benefits the youth of Texas, right?

  5. Yes and and if I win this round ill go to the rodeo and if I when there then I’ll get a scholarship to any school of my choice! Im so excited but im also worried I’ve had nightmares in the past week about something happienng to my sculpture.

    • It’s probably just a worry dream, I have them myself occasionally and the worst never happens. I hope that the only thing that happens to it , is that its picked and you get to go to the rodeo and get the Scholarship. May lady luck be with you for that and all your other undertakings.

  6. That was interesting, Ralph. I have a cousin, whom I was once quite close to…we grew up together and were close in age, etc. But then, she really changed. She really, for lack of a better description, became…bizarre. I heard she became a Wiccan..she left her teen kids behind and ran off to hang with others in a colony somewhere in Texas and I never heard from her or saw her again…and that was probably 20 years ago. Her parents wouldn’t tell us why, but they disowned her. Whatever she did to cause that must have been worse than leaving her children. I think it’s very sad. I don’t understand cults and I keep an open mind about them, however, whatever witchcraft my cousin chose to be a part of must have been the kind unconcerned with peace or family.

    • Some individuals seem to get fanatical about their religion and develop maladaptive behaviors.
Spiritual beliefs for some can also have pathological aspects to it that causes them to practice an unauthentic form of spirituality. Thanks for sharing and for visiting and reading this page.
